i live in front of about five of these islands ( Ubatuba,SP) and they have lots of people that live on them. the police don’t exist or at least not in the way you think of police. corruption rules all but it works and things actually are better because of it, rule of thumb you get what you pay for. why its so cheap to buy property is because EVERYTHING is imported so everything costs more. ive lived here a year and a half and ive never seen any kind of crime. crime here is not like the states, people cry about it here and they say theres all kinds of it but they are always those victims that are scared of life that say that. there are no cops, and yet i still take my daughter to the playground 12 at night on hot days. strait out its safer here than the U.S.
