Will Singapore be willing to buy the Philippines Islands if the country is for sale?
As a Filipino national working in Singapore I have a great admiration about its transformation from a quite fishing village into a city-state with world-class economy within a short span of 50+ years. However the country has a limited land area so, I wonder if given the option to acquire a group of islands just across South China Sea, would it be interesting to the government and the people? I chose the Philippines as it is my own country and it has a reverse trend in its economic progress; from one of the most developed country in South East Asia during 1960s to a poor developing country at present, a short span of 50+ years!
This old article sparked my interest to ask this question: http://www.manilatimes.net/national/2008/aug/07/yehey/top_stories/20080807top7.html
If you keep dreaming and Philippinos keep quitting their country it would be the same another 50 years, even after the Singapore government buys over Phillippine. It is generally a Catholic country and what is wrong with your country. Pastures are always greener on the other side. Be happy with what you have.
Singapore on the other hand, is a small country and not difficult to develop and anyone who reigns the country for 44 years can do that. Clean up the mess, cultivate your land and be responsible. You have the natural resources and you are gifted but what has happened, you are all expecting the government to do something. All that glitters is not gold. What you see is not Singapore, it is a land of sins. There is no spirituality here…all are looking for houses, cars, shares, business, but there is no love. Look at how they eat, gluttonny. Look at how they rush for seats on train. Look at how the craze for free gifts and discount. There is no love here and all are living iin falsehood. They give too charity becuse they want to claim lesser taxes or feels guilty about swindling others money. I can go on but I feel very judgmental but I need you and all to know.
Pray and thank the Lord for He has given you abundance but you all have squandered it away.
